Frequently asked questions.
Do I need a VISA to visit Ghana?
Yes. Most travelers, including U.S. citizens, require a VISA to enter Ghana. We recommend applying well in advance (2-3 months before departure date - not that you will only have 90 days to use VISA from time of VISA acceptance date) through the Ghana Embassy or a trusted visa service. BRAAFIË Tours can provide guidance on the process. It may take 15-20 days to receive your VISA in the mail. Keep in mind that Ghana is testing a new E-VISA option. Ask us about the E-VISA!
How do I pay for my tour if I am ready to book?
This is a wonderful question! Now that you are ready to book, we want to make sure you feel comfortable securely doing so. Select to either pay your $300 deposit or to pay in full. The link will redirect you to your payment. Please indicate in the form whether you are paying for double or single occupancy. You may pay via card, CashApp, Zelle and additional methods listed on the payment link.
Do I need vaccinations to visit Ghana?
Yes. Proof of a Yellow Fever vaccination is required for entry. Other recommended vaccinations include Typhoid, Hepatitis A/B, and routine immunizations. We suggest consulting your healthcare provider at least 4–6 weeks before travel. The only REQUIRED vaccine is the Yellow Fever vaccination. This is a once in a lifetime vaccination as long as you have your yellow card! These can range from $350-500 USD. Please plan accordingly. You may get these vaccinations at Passport Health. They will also supply you with malaria pills that you will receive closer to your departure date.
Is Ghana safe for tourists?
Ghana is one of the most welcoming and stable countries in West Africa. Like any destination, travelers should remain aware of their surroundings and follow basic safety precautions. Our guided tours prioritize your safety and comfort.

Deposits are non-refundable. However, as long as you. notify us within reasonable time after additional payments have been made. If you have an iPhone, you can use your FaceTime and internet when you are connected to wifi. However, please give your phone servicer a call prior to leaving so that you can decide which services are covered for you in Ghana.
What is the best time of year to visit Ghana?
It really depends on what vibe you are looking for! June/July are calmer periods in Ghana. You will get to experience Ghana without the super crowd of tourists. December is the most popular season, especially during “Detty December” when festivals and events peak. However, Ghana is beautiful year-round, with cultural experiences and historical sites available in every season.
What kind of accommodations will I have?
BRAAFIË Tours partners with trusted hotels. You will be housed in both boutique style and 5 start hotels depending on the cities we visit.
What should I pack for my trip?
Lightweight clothing for warm weather, modest attire for cultural and religious sites, comfortable walking shoes, swimwear, and insect repellent. We also recommend packing a small power adapter for electronics (Ghana uses 230V/50Hz, Type G plugs).
Can I drink the tap water in Ghana?
No. We recommend bottled or filtered water at all times. BRAAFIË Tours ensures safe drinking water is available throughout your journey.
