Day 1 - Arrival in Accra
Arrive in Ghana’s bustling capital, Accra, where you’ll be warmly welcomed at Kotoka International Airport by your tour guide. Your guide will welcome you the BRAAFIË way — IN STYLE! With our signature tee and other welcome goodies, your journey is just beginning! After a short transfer to your hotel, enjoy a welcome dinner and an overview of Ghana’s rich cultural heritage that you’ll explore in the days ahead.
Today is meant for resting after the long journey! You will have the opportunity to go to the local grocery store to pick up any food items you may need for the evening/next day. You will also have the option to visit the FOREX Bureau to make any money exchanges necessary from your country’s currency to the Ghana Cedi. You will need the rest! The days coming will be full of adventure, culture and memorable moments that you won’t be able to stop talking about!
Day 2 - The Story of Accra
Begin your journey with a tour of Accra’s key historical landmarks. Visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, which honors Ghana’s first president. Walk through Independence Square a significant location in Accra that tells the story of Ghana’s independence on March 6th, 1957 from colonial rule! Visit Accra’s infamous art market as you get the opportunity to patronize local artisans. You will end your day at BOJO beach right outside of Ghana to relax and reflect on the day’s journey!
Day 3 - Arts & Daily Life in Accra
Today, you will visit the W.E.B. DuBois museum to learn about the pan-african scholar and diaspora’s connection to Ghana. Discover Accra’s creative heartbeat with a visit to the bustling Makola Market. From spices to colorful textiles, this is daily life in motion. Continue to the National Museum of Ghana for insights into the country’s archaeology and ethnography. In the evening, enjoy a cultural showcase with drumming, dance, and storytelling at Labadi beach!
Day 4 - Journey to kumasi, Capital of the Ashanti Kingdom
Today, you will travel inland (by bus) to Kumasi, the historic center of the Ashanti Empire. Visit the Manhyia Palace Museum to learn about Ashanti kingship and traditions. Explore the Kejetia Market, one of West Africa’s largest, where traders sell everything from handmade jewelry to sacred artifacts.
Day 5 - Ashanti Craft Villages
Spend the day exploring Kumasi’s famous craft villages. In Ahwiaa, meet skilled woodcarvers; in Ntonso, try your hand at adinkra cloth stamping; and in Bonwire, witness the weaving of kente cloth, a centuries-old symbol of identity and pride. Learn the ancient stories about the origination of kente weaving in West Africa. Each stop reveals the artistry and cultural significance of Ashanti craftsmanship.
Day 6 - Travel North to Tamale
Embark on your journey to Tamale (by bus) in Ghana’s Northern Region, a land of rich traditions and warm hospitality. Upon arrival, settle into your accommodation and enjoy a dinner of northern specialties such as tuo zaafi and guinea fowl, while your guide introduces you to the region’s history and cultural diversity.
Day 7 - The Northern Heritage Trail
Morning safari drive in Mole National Park (elephants, antelope, monkeys)
Begin with a visit to Larabanga, home to Ghana’s oldest mosque, built in the 15th century using Sudano-Sahelian architecture. Continue to Mole, not just for its scenery but to learn about the communities that live around the park and their traditions. Meet local storytellers and elders who share oral histories of the north.
Day 8 - Culture & Community in Tamale
Visit Tamale Central Mosque & bustling market
Engage with women’s cooperatives (shea butter production)
Dagomba community immersion: chieftaincy traditions, cooking demo, music & dance.Spend the day exploring Tamale’s cultural landmarks. Visit the Central Mosque and tour the vibrant central market, a hub for colorful fabrics and handcrafts. Engage with women’s cooperatives specializing in shea butter production, learning how this trade sustains families. Conclude with a traditional music and dance performance in the evening.
Day 9 - RETURN TO ACCRA, FREE DAY
Fly back to Accra in the morning. This morning, you’ll return to Accra from Tamale, either by flight or scenic drive. Once back in the capital, the rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure. You may choose to relax at your hotel, enjoy a swim, or head out for some last-minute shopping at one of Accra’s bustling craft markets. For those who want to explore more, optional activities include visiting a contemporary art gallery, sampling local street food, or relaxing by one of Accra’s beaches. In the evening, gather with your group for a casual dinner and reflect on the incredible journey you’ve had across Ghana.
Day 10 - Departure from Accra
Enjoy a farewell lunch and some final shopping for souvenirs such as kente, carvings, or beads. In the evening, transfer to Kotoka International Airport for your departure, carrying with you the unforgettable stories and traditions of Ghana’s northern journey.

Upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your eco-friendly hotel in the heart of Accra. Day 2 - Discover the Vibrant City of Accra
Your first full day begins with a tour of Accra, a city that perfectly blends history, culture, and modern energy. Visit landmarks such as the W.E.B. Day 3 - Heritage & Healing Cape Coast & Kakum National Park
Travel to Cape Coast and step into Ghana’s powerful history. Visit Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a guided tour that offers a moving look at the transatlantic slave trade. Afterward, enjoy an eco-walk along the coastline while learning about local marine conservation efforts. Rest overnight at a beachfront eco-lodge, where the sound of the waves lulls you to sleep.
Day 4 - FREE Day, Restore & RELAX
After exploring the deep history of Cape Coast, today is yours to relax and recharge before the next leg of your journey. Spend the day at leisure on the coastline, where palm-fringed beaches and the sound of rolling waves invite you to slow down. You may choose to swim, sunbathe, or take a peaceful stroll along the shore. Optional activities include a visit to a nearby fishing village to learn about traditional livelihoods, a cooking class focused on fresh coastal cuisine, or a guided nature walk through the surrounding mangroves. Whether you prefer quiet reflection, cultural immersion, or light adventure, this free day offers the perfect balance of rest and discovery before we continue into the lush landscapes of the Volta Region.
Day 5 - Akosombo & the Volta River
Journey to the scenic town of Akosombo, known for its breathtaking views of the Volta River. Take an eco-cruise along the river, learning about its importance to local life. Visit a fishing community to see how sustainable practices are being preserved. In the evening, settle into an eco-lodge on the riverbank, where you’ll fall asleep to the gentle sounds of nature.
Day 6 - Service Day with Students in the HoHoe, Volta Region
Today offers a meaningful opportunity to give back while connecting with the local community in Hohoe, located in Ghana’s Volta Region. You’ll spend the day with Mawuvi Basketball Fellowship, a local NGO dedicated to empowering youth through sports, education, and mentorship. Join in a variety of activities—help run basketball clinics, assist with academic tutoring, or take part in community service projects that promote teamwork and life skills. This day is not just about volunteering; it’s about building relationships, sharing cultures, and supporting young people as they grow in confidence and leadership. In the evening, enjoy a casual gathering with the Fellowship’s coaches and youth, reflecting on the day’s impact and the power of service.
Day 7 - Explore the Volta Region
Head toward the Volta Region, home to some of Ghana’s most stunning landscapes. Your highlight today is a guided hike to Wli Waterfalls, the tallest in West Africa. Along the way, you’ll pass through lush forests alive with bird calls. In the afternoon, visit a weaving village where artisans preserve the centuries-old tradition of kente cloth. Spend the night in a mountain eco-resort surrounded by serenity.
Day 8 - Waterfalls & Wonders of the Eastern Region
Today is dedicated to the lush beauty of Ghana’s Eastern Region. Hike through tropical forests to Boti Falls, where cool waters cascade into a natural pool. Continue to Umbrella Rock, a unique geological formation with panoramic views. A picnic featuring locally sourced produce will keep you energized. As night falls, enjoy a bonfire gathering at your eco-lodge under a canopy of stars.
Day 9 - FREE Day in Accra - Beach & Leisure

After breakfast, return to Accra with scenic stops along the way. Share a farewell lunch at one of the city’s top eco-friendly restaurants before heading to Kotoka International Airport for your departure.
